ESGRight hosted a media conference and a business networking event with GRI CEO, Mr Eelco van der Enden on the 9th of March. Mr. Eelco van der Enden provided an insightful presentation that covered various issues related to sustainability reporting. The session was followed-up with an interesting Q&A session involving the audience.
We were glad to have MATRADE’s Deputy CEO Pn Sharimahton Mat Saleh as the Guest of Honour. Other senior representatives from the Government and industry who attended the session were Pn Salmah Mydin, ED of Securities Commission Malaysia, Datuk Muhammad Azmi Zulkifli, CEO of InvestKL, Michele Kythe Lim, CEO of Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM), Dr Jessica Muniandy, Head of ESG section of Ministry of International Trade and Industry as well as Dr Allinnettes Adigue and Bronte Klein from GRI.
It was an eventful evening as representatives from Government-linked companies such as Malaysia’s national retirement fund ie KWAP, members of Malaysian Consortium of Mid-Tier Companies, multinational companies as well as industry associations came together for networking and dinner.
Prior to dinner, Mr.Prathab, the CEO of ESGright and Mr. Eelco van der Enden attended the press conference, which saw them taking questions from journalists from leading media houses in Malaysia such as the New Straits Times, Malaysian Reserve, The Edge and BERNAMA. The questions varied, ranging from relevance of sustainability standards, frameworks to GRI’s growth is growing in terms of adoption among companies in the region.
